The B-15 jacket is was a highly favoured flight jacket which was produced for the United States Army Air Forces. After several iterations of the flight jacket, the B-15 became the preferred version for is lightweight, heat retaining capabilities. This jacket was a welcome replacement to the heavier sheepskin flight jackets of the 30’s and 40’s and allowed for a much superior ease of moment without sacrificing its protective qualities. Buzz Rickson’s have spared no expense when it comes to this beautiful reincarnation of the B-15, and we believe that this is just about as close to the original as you can get. The body has been cut from a 100% cotton olive drab which carefully matches the weight of the original, and features a plush 1/2” sheepskin collar for supreme comfort. The short cut jacket is lined with an alpaca wool for added thermal protection. The cuffs and waistband have been knitted from a high grade olive wool and ensure the perfect fit and shielding from winds. The vintage style remake zipper has been made by Talon and has been blackened for heritage effect. The zipper features a leather tab pull and is bound with 100% cotton taping, no plastic mouldings to be seen here. The inside of the jacket features two pockets for convenience and a brilliantly reproduced makers label which has been woven on vintage looms. The left sleeve boasts the USAAF insignia, just in case there were any questions of its military credentials. This jacket is a brilliant option for the autumn and winter months, and provides comfortable heat without overpowering.
