Field Notes

Freewheelers & Co Japan have quietly been releasing some of the finest denim on the market under their incredible ‘Vanishing West’ sub-label. Cut from a rinsed 14oz fabric, this mid weight jean has a medium rise and a straight leg, offering a perfect vintage silhouette. Traditional construction methods have been used throughout, and solid hardware has been incorporated to ensure that this jean is every bit as solid as the originals.

Punched copper rivets, custom coated steel buttons, heavy duty bar tacks and hidden pocket rivets all help this jean to be as durable as they can. The brand have treated this jean to a rinse to remove any excess shrinkage, meaning that they are good to go! No expense has been spared on detail on this model, and the brand have produced yet another lust worthy piece of denim history which we are proud to have in store.

How to Wash
Step 1

When you’re ready to wash your jeans, button the fly and turn them inside out. Doing up the fly ensures the jeans maintain their shape, and turning them inside out avoids unwanted marks from the washing machine drum on the indigo.

Step 2

Place the jeans in your washing machine with neutral detergent, and set them on a non/low-spin wash at cold–20 degrees for raw, or up to 30 degrees for pre-washed. High spin may cause unwanted 'lightning fades', and washing too hot can cause excess shrinkage, so it’s important to follow these steps carefully!

Step 3

Once your jeans are done washing, hang them somewhere safe and allow them to air dry. Putting your jeans in a tumble dryer has a high chance of degrading the fabric and misshaping your jeans. Make sure wherever you hang them has proper drainage, as you’ll be expecting some indigo runoff.
