ONI Denim

ONI 02517 Ishikawadai 15oz Type-II Denim Jacket - One Wash

$431

Woven on a remarkably rare Japanese spinning machine from the early 1950’s, this incredible new denim takes its name from the contraption which gave it life; the Ishikawadai. Producing fabric at a frustratingly slow rate by modern standards, this machine produces a unique feel which protects the integrity of the cotton, in a similar way to the benefits of hand weaving.

Weighing in at 15 ounces, this 100% cotton denim is neither too heavy, nor too light, making it the perfect option for all year round wear, and for this example of historical sartorial design, ONI have taken on the iconic Type-II denim jacket. Cut in a standard fit, less boxy than we might expect of this style, this jackets offers a modern silhouette, and boasts classic design features including twin chest pockets, sewn-in knife pleats, adjustable button tabs at waist, selvedge button plate, and a veg-tanned leather brand patch.
