ONI’s latest interpretation of the iconic Type-II jacket is here, and in the form of their brilliant ‘Semi Hand Made’ range. This timeless design has been given new life by the brand, by blending the traditional shape with a slightly slimmer cut, and even convenient hand warmer pockets. Nuanced detailing comes in the form of single stitch seams, which have gone through close quality control inspection.
Two button down chest pockets can be found on the front, alongside the iconic sewn-in knife pleats which we have come to expect from a Type-II. A selvedge button plate is lined with donut buttons, and the brand’s demonic mascot can be found lurking in the leather brand patch.
This beautifully slubby denim weighs in at a comfortable 16oz weight, and has been woven on vintage shuttle looms at a super loose tension to give a perfectly uneven patina. Mr Oishi has treated this rope dyed fabric to a healthy coating of natural indigo, a luxurious process which promises to yield beautiful fades over time.
These ‘hand made’ models offer a real insight into the craft of this brand, and are a great addition to the collection here at Son of a Stag.
