Warehouse & Co have released a brilliant example of what we might call the WWII Type-I. This delicately detailed, early model denim jacket has been cut from the brand’s signature 13.5oz raw denim, and boasts a short cut boxy shape with a traditional cinch back, which is synonymous with this type. Coming from a period of intense economical uncertainty and rationing, this model has been paired down in an effort to save on precious supplies for the war effort. Donut buttons have been featured which save on steel, and only four buttons can be found on the front closure. Also the pocket flap has been removed to avoid excess material consumption.
Traditional sewn in knife pleats have been included on the front plate, and a leather patch has been included. For the cherry on the cake, the brand have developed a custom buckle for this option, which perfectly reflects those used in the mid 1940’s.
