The 1944 model 101B jean from Lee Archives marks a celebration of the period in which the brand were transitioning from ‘Cowboy’ brand, to ‘Riders’. This regular straight leg jean is the first option in the collection which we see with the ‘Riders’ branding, which can be found on the pocket flasher, and the steel tuck buttons on the fly. With a mid/high rise, this comfortable jean is very easy to wear. The pockets have been made noticeably smaller on this model, and have been moved further apart, though they still bear the iconic crossed bar tacks at the pocket corners.
Lee have opted for a simple leather patch with their brand logo, but have included a further rayon tab on the back right pocket, which would later become synonymous with the Lee design. For a final touch of iconic detail, these Japanese made Lee jeans boast a natural and overlock selvedge line, which has become so sought after by collectors over the years.
